AI Article Generation

How to use BloggFast's built-in AI writer to generate and publish articles.

Last updated:

Accessing the AI generator

The AI Article Generator is located in the admin dashboard at /admin/generate. You must be signed in to access it.

Generating an article

  1. Navigate to Admin → AI Generator
  2. Enter a title and optional subtitle for your article
  3. Select a category and author
  4. Choose your desired article length
  5. Click Generate
  6. The AI will stream the article content in real time
  7. Review the content, edit if needed, then Save Draft or Publish

Tip

Write a specific, detailed title for better results. For example, "10 Ways to Improve Your Morning Routine for Developers" will produce significantly better output than just "Morning routine".

Article length control

You can specify the target word count for generation. The configurable range is 200 – 5,000 words (default: 500). Common presets:

Word countBest for
200–500Quick takes, news commentary, opinion pieces
500–1,000Standard blog posts, how-tos
1,000–2,000In-depth explainers, tutorials
2,000–5,000Comprehensive guides, pillar content, long-form articles

The default word count target is set in the admin AI settings at /admin/settings. You can also override it per generation request.

Reviewing and publishing

Generated articles are saved as drafts. Use the built-in editor to review and refine the content. When satisfied:

  • Save Draft — saves without publishing (visible in admin, not live)
  • Publish — immediately makes the article live on your blog

Published articles appear on the blog listing page and are indexed by search engines.

Note

The AI text model is configurable in admin settings. BloggFast supports 6 OpenAI text models (gpt-5-mini default) and 2 image models (gpt-image-1 default). See the OpenAI Setup page for the full model list.

AI cover images

BloggFast supports generating cover images alongside article content. When you provide a cover image prompt (or the system auto-generates one from the title), the AI creates an image that's saved and attached to the article automatically.
